So the first pictures of the HD 6850 and HD 6870 have leaked across the net to give us a bit of eye candy without revealing anything important. It should be significantly faster than the HD 5970 and probably a lot more expensive.

Yeah these are the new top models of AMD, if I'm not wrong, so they should be with perfect performance...
Both cards are nice IMO. According to most reviews they are not faster than the GTX 480 but the cost half the money. So for the price of GTX 480 you get a powerful crossfire beast.
They seem good, but I can't get a question out of my mind. Why is 6870 $100+ cheaper than the 5870? ? ? It can't be faster then the latter and cost so little right?
