LG has announced the world's first 5 inch Full HD LCD Smartphone panel that offers 1080p resolution and a 440ppi pixel density. The latter easily beats the 330ppi Retina display on the Apple iPhone 4 and Apple iPhone 4S and is made from LCD technology called Advanced High Performance In-Plane Switching (AH-IPS). This technology allows for wider viewing angles, improved brightness and fast response times when touched.
