GPS Questions & Answers
Who buys GPS devices nowadays?

With the development of smartphones and a lot of GPS applications for iOS, Android, Windows...I'm curious, who buys GPS devices? I'm not talking about special GPS for mountain routes, for example, but the regular ones for cars.
I think that most of the people use the GPS functionality of their smartphones indeed mostly cause you carry your phone with you in all times...
People that travel much mount normal GPSs in their cars mostly because it is more reliable
And why do you think GPSs are more reliable?
The standalone GPS navigations, usually have more battery life and are purpose built with better chipsets etc. I think that people who buy standalone GPS travel a lot (like truck drivers for example) or hate smartphones :)
You can buy car kit for your smartphone and you can charge it in the car, so battery life is not a reason. Truck drivers buy GPS cause they have special routes, that is why on the market has maps for truck drivers
Usually stand alone GPSs have bigger screens, 4.3"+ not that there aren't such huge smartphones, but how many truck drivers do you know that use a smartphone :D
As I said I'm not talking about specialised GPS units, but the regular ones
I don't see any point of buying separate GPS unit
My dad does. He carries a dumb-phone as well and it works out perfect for him. Me, I'm all for one device.
GPS are not a bad thing, but I can't understand why they are so expensive...
