GalaxyTabHacks has posted detailed instructions on how interested parties can install Ubuntu Linux onto the Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1. The hack finds a way to use the distribution without completely overriding Android. Dubbed Tabuntu, the OS runs as it would on a virtual machine.
The mod allows users to run native Linux programs on the tablet. The host Galaxy Tab needs to be rooted, and the instructions are rather detailed, though they are available in the development video (below). Busybox also needs to be installed onto the host Tab.
