Cameras Questions & Answers
Best point-and-shoot camera?

I'm interested in small, pocket sized camera with characteristics above average. What is the best one out there? Just to mention that I'm not interested in the ones with changeable lenses. I just want simple, easy to use camera with the best possible picture quality for the class. Any advice is appreciated, thanks.

Well, according to the pro reviewers there are two choices Canon PowerShot Elph 300 HS and Panasonic Lumix DMC-FX78. They have the same (best) performance, just the prices are different.
Take the Canon 300 HS, it's $300 cheaper than the DMC-FX78, which is not a small amount of money!
Nikon Coolpix S9100 is a fair option too. It lacks manual controls and does not shoot in raw, but that's why you'd choose point-and-shooter's over dslr's and superzoomers, no?
Here's the comparison between the three cameras mentioned so far: http://www.meetgadget.com/gadget/compare/Nikon+COOLPIX+S9100,Canon+PowerShot+ELPH+300+HS,Panasonic+Lumix+DMC-FX78/gadgets/45680,45294,44148
My pick would be the Coolpix. However, I'm just an occasional shooter, and this one fits my needs perfectly. It is also in the ~$300 price range.
Canon PowerShot S95 :) good solution for an ordinary camera user like me easy to work with, great quality of photos...it costs about 300$

From the newest ones, Canon PowerShot S100 (the successor of S95) is possibly one of the greatest point-and-shoot cameras judging by its specifications. However, the price you're looking at is $429, but again, lots of positive reviews and great specs.
