Samsung Mobile Display recently opened the new OLED display factory, and is now rumored to upgrade the resolution of its 7" Super AMOLED display prototype to 1024x768 pixels, for eventual tablet appearance.
While this is a far cry from the rumored iPad 3 double resolution of 1536x2048, let's not forget this will be the largest AMOLED display on a mobile device, so some tradeoffs are inevitable until Samsung preps the LITI production method, which will bring "Retina Display" resolutions to Super AMOLED screens as well.
