The Samsung Galaxy Z smartphone that was revealed for European markets earlier this month is said to be headed to the UK as the Galaxy R by the end of July. Featuring a step down in specs from its bigger brother, the Galaxy S II, the Galaxy R has a 4.2-inch, WVGA (480 x 800 pixel) display and a dual-core processor that is expected to be clocked slightly slower than the 1.2GHz unit in the Galaxy S II. The Galaxy R is slightly thicker and heavier than the Galaxy S II, and it features a 5 megapixel camera as opposed to the 8 megapixel shooter on the S II. Pricing and carrier availability for the R have yet to be announced.
