So Ubuntu isn't on the supported OS's, but is there any way to port it for Linux?

You can run Photoshop on Ubuntu(and any other Windows program) on Wine. I`ll give you a step by step tutorial on how to install CS4 in Ubuntu

Step 1. Install Wine

#sudo add-apt-repository ppa:ubuntu-wine/ppa
#sudo apt-get update
#sudo apt-get install wine1.3

Step 2. Install PlayOnLinux

#wget -q "http://deb.playonlinux.com/public.gpg" -O - | sudo apt-key add -
#sudo wget http://deb.playonlinux.com/playonlinux_maverick.list -O /etc/apt/sources.list.d/playonlinux.list
#sudo apt-get update
#sudo apt-get install playonlinux

Step 3. Open PlayOnLinux, click Install and search for Photoshop CS 4 then click Apply (this will fetch the required dll libraries to Wine)
After you complete it a Popup window in which you`ll have to specify the path to photoshop setup files will appear. Then the installation should proceed like regular windows installation

That is it...if you have any questions write :)

I've used the above mentioned method but photoshop never made it through the install. I got it to work with wine and photoshop CS4 portable. The program starts and works, but it runs very poor, lags a lot.
