Wireless not working after upgrading Ubunto 10.10 to 11.04

Posted by Twisted on Jun 27, 2011

I had Ubuntu 10.10 Stable installed and decided to update to 11.04 (mostly because I wanted to see the Unity). After the update everything seemed to work...but sadly the wireless didn`t. I`ve tried everything the wireless seem to be installed the adapter is visible when you write lspci in the terminal, but it is just not working. Has anyone faced similar problem and how did you fix it? The wireless chipset is Atheros AR5008. Any ideas will be appreciated.

Problem solved

Level 9 I`ve faced the same problem and after a month of struggle I`ve found a solution. I downloaded the latest drivers from http://wireless.kernel.org/en/users/Download#Directly_downloading_the_tarball
and installed the latest ath9k driver. After the reboot everything seemed working.
Good luck!
