Intel has previewed the capabilities of Windows 8-based ultrabooks, some of which take advantage of touchscreen technology and voice recognition. The chip maker suggests more than 75 ultrabook designs will arrive on the market this year, as the company's third-generation Core-series processors become available this spring.
Intel vice president Mooly Eden demonstrated a unique ultrabook prototype, known as the Nikiski, that features a transparent touchpad that extends most of the way across the space below the keyboard. The transparent surface enables users to close the notebook and still view content, such as news feeds and calendar entries, on a portion of the display. »read more
