Browser Problems

Posted by Renk81 on Dec 08, 2011

A friend of mine is having issues with their browser. They're running Win 7-Pro x86 and Firefox, here is what they say:

I have been having issues today of my internet freezing up...I downloaded comodo anti-virus internet protection and hopefully it will do it's job. If anyone had any other suggestions on how I can get my internet secured, please let me know! Thanks!

Already checking updates for both, as well as RAM and CPU consumption. What else should I suggest?

Level 3 Does "freezes" mean browser stop loading and rendering pages? If so (assuming only that particular browser is affected, not other applications), they should be looking at:

1. Installing second browser to determine whether it is browser related only. I'd suggest Chrome.
2. If the second browser works fine, then it is a problem with Firefox (re-installing or updating should fix it)
3. If the second browser is also affected, then I'd be checking out the internet connectivity

But, If other applications are also affected, please explain further what exactly happens -- for how long, when, etc.

Level 9 Sometimes during heavy browsing on either Mozilla or Chrome the whole PC might freeze because of bad flash support (but everyone keeps putting Flash banners everywhere)...it causes some kind of memory leak happens mostly on DDRII...
