Apple iPad Questions & Answers

Not satisfied.

Posted by M3LKO on Feb 05, 2010

When I Apple released the iPad, I was excited. After thinking about it though, I wasn't. There won't be multi-tasking, it'll be on AT&T (which I don't have service where I live), and it looks like a really big iPod Touch. I also hoped that it wouldn't run iPhone software. It was a big disappointment.

I don't mind the looks, or the AT&T I loved the multitouch improvements and the possibilities it offered. But the one thing I really dislike is the lack of Flash support! How is this the ultimate surfing gadget if I cannot open every site I want to visit. It was embarassing to see the hateful icon on the Apple presentation while Steve was showing the NYTimes website... Dissappointing, hope they fix it.

Lol, it's an iPod touch only bigger. sure it may have some added bonus's, but it's still a big itouch.

Well, Steve Jobs did announce as to why there is no Flash on the iPad & iPhone. He insulted Adobe, which was mean, but verrrrrrry true, that it is poorly developed and crashes too often. I have so many problems with flash when I browse on my regular browser. He also said that that Html5 is the future for flash and when it hits, Adobe's Flash will be obsolete.

Also guys, remember what was intended for the iPad. It's supposed to be Apple's netbook, which quite frankly lives up to their goal. Netbooks do NOT process any better than a regular computer. They are supposed to be for a internet browsing experience. I'm sure when it finally does come out, it will show people its potential and will outshine netbooks in certain areas.

As for multitasking, yes this sucks it doesn't come with it... But there is hope that it will get it. iPad runs the iPhone OS. Since we all looked at the rumors and information which led to the iPad, which we were pretty accurate about, look at the rumors for iPhone 4.0 OS and Steve Job's commentary about Google. Yes, it'll seem biased, but if they do show up, the iPad will get an update as well I'm sure.

The iPAD is expensive and is not as powerful as a Windows netbook, but it can be considered as a great high-end book reader-Internet-thing. It can replace a book reader with 10" display and 10 hours of battery live and replace the netbook for basic browsing, which can be done way more mobile than a LAPtop, without the need of a table.

I dont think this is going to go too far. Iis a large scale ipod. not much more to it. not only did apple fail with a design they failed at bringing it to the market for a price people want to pay. I am not much of a apple fan but i liked the iphone and ipod touch, not a fan of where they went from there.

I think it's going to be a big bust.

to the first commenter, it doesn't run one the iphone OS, but it does run the applications, there is a difference. I agree with you on everything else but I think the design looks great. Also it just looks like its going to sit/feel really natural in your hands.

I think people are getting the wrong impression of this device. Like what donkeypunched said its a Netbook. With the capabilities of downloading and running all the apps currently on the iphone/ipod touch the multimedia experience will be awesome. I work at Verizon and we sell a lot of Netbooks. The average user is only wanting to check email and browse the web. Most impressed by the size of the device. If you mix those wants with the sleek design and ease of use from an iphone/ipod touch, people will pay from an ipad.
