Sprint to terminate LightSquared 4G LTE satellite contract

According to sources reporting to The Wall Street Journal, Sprint is about to pull the plug on its deal with would-be LTE carrier LightSquared. The Journal reports that Sprint will end its relationship with LightSquared on Friday and will return $65 million worth of pre-payments that LightSquared paid to Sprint to gain its help building out an LTE(INFO) network that made use of LightSquared's spectrum licenses. LightSquared said that the 15-year Sprint deal would have saved it over $13 billion in build-out costs. »read more
