How do I illuminate the LCD screen of Cobra DCS8350?

What do you mean by doesn`t light up outdoors? The screen must be illuminated at all times no matter if you`re indoors or outdoors :)
this is the issue Hellbound, the screen will not light up outdoors. Is there a way to adjust or should I assume its broken?
If it is working fine indoors I assume that it is working but just not visible in sunlight...the only solution I can come up with is anti glare screen protector it costs about 5$ and it should do the trick...if the screen is working indoors there is no other logical explanation
