Posted by cerebral1 on Feb 04, 2010

Anyone anxious to get android 2.1 for their droid? I think the biggest improvement will be multi-touch. What do you think?

Will this be an option? They still need to work on having bluetooth functionality with txting and voice dialing. A lot of states are starting to crack down on people txting in their car and if I have to look down to dial my phone, I don't want to get busted!

well if you download the gallery app from android 2.1 on to the droid, it has pinch to zoom, which is a nice feature.

Looks like 2.1 update rolling out this week! This may be the push I needed to go ahead and pull the trigger on leaving my WinMo and moving over to Android.

I totally agree. I think multitouch is something the iPod has over their competitors yet i think people are catching on

I'd be happy to get my wifi working consistently.

I think that it will be a big improvement. multitouch is huge in speed to be able to see things better.

it will be interesting to see if motorola includes the gestures for multitouch into the 2.1 upgrade or if we have to wait for an update to the 2.1 version

Need a new phone and I think this is it.

2.1 will be awesome on the Droid, obviously a great improvement, but from the readings i have been doing, i have not heard of any confirmation that the 2.1 update will bring multitouch to the droid, so far only the N1 update will include it.

They need to come out with 2.1 soon. I don't want to download a bunch of different apps that aren't native and use up memory just to get the 2.1 experience. Plus, I want the animated, interactive backgrounds :)

This is a great phone...my wife has it and I can't wait for my upgrade. 2.1 will be a great addition for this phone. If you root it have they ported 2.1 yet?

I'm having a bit of a conundrum. I'm eligible for my new every two in May so I'm struggling on getting the Moto droid or waiting till the CDMA Nexus One comes out.

AAHHHH!!!

I would like to see how this phone performs. but looking forward to it.

I think the Droid is an awesome phone that will only get better with 2.1
I miss my BlackBerry messenger but the space for applications makes up for it. I could only hold a few apps on my BB but the droid seems to be unlimited...so far.

The Droid looks so awesome with multitouching; now it can hold a candle to the N1 :)
