Why is this advertised as 8.2MP, yet the highest selectable picture size is 8.1MP? Is this normal with digital cameras?

This laptop is nice and speedy, but gaming or other intensive things will cause it to heat up until the grate actually become burning hot. Speedfan is unable to find the fans and reports the GPU as 53°C just idle for me; not gaming or playing back videos.
