Been giving Linux based OS a spin around block. Curious is there anyone who has more experience with many, that can give a rendering of which one(s) are best for performance, user friendly-less, compatibility, and/or astetics?

Problem
Operating Systems, Linux, Ubuntu 11.04
Currently own a Canon Pixma MP640R and running Ubuntu 11.04, but apparently Linux nor Canon have drivers so that the two will work together, as of now. It will not work with wireless nor with the USB. Ubuntu recognizes it as there and by model, but won't connect. Any Suggestions?

I had Ubuntu 10.10 Stable installed and decided to update to 11.04 (mostly because I wanted to see the Unity). After the update everything seemed to work...but sadly the wireless didn`t.
