Corsair ships Vengeance gaming mice and keyboards, procrastinating shoppers rejoice

Corsair ships Vengeance gaming mice and keyboards, procrastinating shoppers rejoice

Posted on Dec 16, 2011 by MG1

Remember that Vengeance line of gaming products that Corsair outed a few months back? We'll forgive you if not, and we'll also take this opportunity to refresh your memory while affirming that the company is shipping the bulk of 'em out just in time for the holidays. The Vengeance K60 and Vengeance K90 gaming keyboards and the Vengeance M60 and Vengeance M90 laser gaming mice and all clad in aluminum, with the K Series aimed at first-person shooter loyalists and the Ms aimed at those who just generally want to be awesome. You can catch up on the nitty-gritty just after the break, but here's the bad news: the K90, K60, M90 and M60 will go for $129, $109, $79 and $69 in order of mention.

Coming just a day after AMD bummed everyone out with its lackluster Bulldozer launch, Corsair announced what it claims is the world's first high performance quad channel 32GB kit. You know, just in case you want to err on the side of excessive when planning out your Sandy Bridge-E upgrade. The kit consists of four "rigorously-screened" 8GB memory modules sitting pretty with Corsair's trademark DHX+ heatsinks.
"The new Dominator 32GB Quad Channel memory kit is designed for high-performance PC enthusiasts using the latest motherboards, whether they're overclockers, gamers, or simply want a large amount of state-of-the-art memory," said Thi La, Vice President of Memory Products at Corsair. "Cor...

Corsair Wants to Replace Your Puny SSD with 180GB and 480GB SATA 6Gbps SSDs

Corsair Wants to Replace Your Puny SSD with 180GB and 480GB SATA 6Gbps SSDs

Posted on Oct 07, 2011 by MG1

Filed in: Corsair

Corsair today announced what it says is a "major advance in high capacity SSDs," which is marketing speak for the retail availability of its 480GB Force Series GT SSD and 180GB and 480GB Force Series 3 SSDs. The 180GB is meant to replace smaller boot drives that became popular when SSD pricing was stuck in the stratosphere, with the 480GB an option for high performance notebooks users who require "massive SSD storage capacity in a single drive."
As a refresher, the Force Series GT is built around SandForce's SF-2280 controller and offers native support for SATA 6Gbps. These drives feature ONFI synchronous flash memory, up to 85,000 random write IOPS, up to 555MBs/ read performance, and up to...

Corsair Teases 32GB Memory Possibilities with New 8GB DDR3 Modules

Corsair Teases 32GB Memory Possibilities with New 8GB DDR3 Modules

Posted on Oct 05, 2011 by MG1

Filed in: Corsair

Whether or not you think it's practical to outfit a system with 32GB of memory, Corsair is at least making the prospect possible by adding 8GB DDR3 modules to its Vengeance and Value Select memory lines. Slap four of these sticks into your dual-channel setup and you'll be sitting pretty with more RAM than most people know what to do with.
The Vengeance stick is clocked at 1600MHz with 10-10-10-27 latency settings. Corsair says it selects only "rigorously-screened DRAM" for its Vengeance modules to ensure both high performance and flexible overclockability. A 32GB system using these modules won't come cheap, however, as street pricing hovers at about $270 per 8GB stick.
Corsair's 8GB Value Se...

Corsair's speedy, flaming red Force GT SSD goes on sale this month for $149 and up

Corsair's speedy, flaming red Force GT SSD goes on sale this month for $149 and up

Posted on Jul 06, 2011 by MG1

Corsair's Force GT solid-state drives caught our eye earlier this year, and their fire engine-red shells were only half the reason. These bad boys also promise up to 85,000 random write IOPS and are rated for impressive read / write speeds of 550 MBps and 525 MBps -- a shade higher than the specs being bandied-about when Corsair showed it off back in March. The drive also supports SATA 3, is backward-compatible with SATA 2, and ships with a 3.5-inch adapter that'll work with both desktops and laptops. Look for it this month in two sizes: 60GB ($149) and 120GB ($279). No word, alas, on the 240GB version that was strutting its stuff on the show floor in Hanover, Germany. PR after the break.
