HTC HD2 Pro Reviews

ITreviews‘s review Edit

It is large in the pocket, and expensive, but apart from the absent video calling camera there isn't much to criticise here on the technical front.

If we're talking first impressions, the HTC HD2 gets off to an absolute flier. The 4.3in, 800 x 480 resolution screen is relatively enormous and packed into a profile that's just 11mm deep. The HD2's rigid buttons and solid, seamless casing make it a stunner to look at.It's built around a 3 x 3 arrangement of icons of your choosing that allow you direct access to any program, contact or bookmark.

Macworld‘s review Edit

The HD2 is an almost-perfect smartphone. Its design, features, and multimedia capabilities put it in a league of its own among other high-end handsets. It is certainly the best Windows Mobile phone on the market and possibly even T-Mobile's strongest offering.

PC Magazine‘s review Edit

The HTC HD2 is the most impressive T-Mobile smartphone we've tested to date, by a long shot. Pity about its clunky, dead-end Windows Mobile 6.5 OS.

HTC’s 4.3-inch behemoth proves bigger really is better – until you weave Windows Mobile 6.5 into the mix.

The HTC HD2 is easily the best of the Windows Mobile handsets we’ve reviewed, and we have no hesitation in awarding the HTC HD2 a Recommended badge.

TechRadar UK‘s review Edit

The HTC HD2 is a boldly designed phone, with a massive screen and industry leading features under the hood, all in a slim and attractive design. The HTC HD2 smashes past the iPhone in terms of raw processing speed and the ability to handle Flash video. It dwarfs the Hero with a more responsive screen and its Wi-Fi routing ability too, and is far better than anything Samsung, LG or Nokia have come up with so far. We so desperately want to give the phone 4.5 stars to rank it alongside the likes of the Hero and the iPhone 3GS, but it just falls short.

letsgomobile‘s review Edit

The HTC HD2 is an impressive smartphone. The huge screen, which is very smooth in use, does increase the size of the phone. The Windows Mobile 6.5 software is nicely designed and works easily, although the innovation level is small. The HTC HD2 mobile phone is extremely suitable for Internet use and email, thanks to the fast connection, perfect support and, naturally, the large-sized screen.

A huge multitouch display, blazing processor, and HTC’s slick Sense interface make the HD2 the best Windows Mobile phone in a long time.

CNET Reviews‘s review Edit

The HTC HD2 is simply the best Windows Mobile phone out there, but its appeal could be hampered by its size and the upcoming Windows Phone 7 series.

phonedog‘s review Edit

Though I wish the HD2 was packaged with Android (or Windows Phone 7 Series, for that matter), we're not so lucky. That being said, HTC's Sense UI does an admirable job at hiding most of Windows Mobile 6.5 under a stunning 4.3-inch WVGA display, HTC's Sense UI, and a fast Snapdragon processor.

mobiledia‘s review Edit

The HD2 is probably not the best fit for someone looking to stay in touch with social networking sites all day long, someone looking for a slim device, or someone that wants a simplistic layout for their phone, with functions like messages grouped together. The phone is a good fit, though, for people interested in having an entertainment powerhouse in their pocket and staying in touch between books and movies.

The T-Mobile HTC HD2 is the biggest, baddest Windows Mobile touchscreen you can buy, though you wouldn't know it with HTC's impressive Sense interface. PhoneScoop reviews this tablet phone, which could be the pinnacle of the current generation of Windows Mobile.

HardwareZone‘s review Edit

In essence, the HTC HD2 proves to be a giant, in so many ways. A gentle giant it is, because it is gentle on your hands with its slim profile, even with an expansive 4.3-inch screen. A powerful giant it is, because of its sheer prowess with it 1GHz Snapdragon processor. A wonderful giant it is, for doing what many have failed to do and creating the HTC Sense experience that enhances what the Windows Mobile stock interface could not, including a multi-touch interface that could be a sign of things to come for future Windows Mobile devices.

Pocket-lint‘s review Edit

The HTC HD2 gives you a full smartphone experience from all angles. The tech specs are fully loaded, giving you HSDPA, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS, a digital compass, accelerometers, proximity sensors (so it knows when it is next to your face…). You get that 5-megapixel camera with LED flash, video capture that actually looks ok and a 3.5mm headphone jack. Then there's the responsive 4.3-inch high-resolution capacitive touchscreen display.

www.trustedreviews.com‘s review Edit

The HTC HD2 is a top-notch phone that usurps every handset on just about every front when it comes to features and hardware. And if that's all you want, then we'd recommend you get one! However, its sheer size and Windows Mobile operating system will no doubt put many off.

HTC's HD2 is the spiritual successor to the popular Touch HD smartphone. The HD2 features the first capacitive touchscreen on a Windows Mobile device, and a massive 4.3-inch one at that.

It´s now a year later and HTC is about to make their newest attempt at changing our view of Windows Mobile with the upcoming release of the HTC HD2. The new cell phone titan once again relies on brute force, although this time carries everything to excess, being equipped with a gigantic 4.3-inch capacitive screen...

Gizmodo‘s review Edit

Let's just get this out of the way: in terms of hardware, the Touch HD2 is the nicest phone in the world. It's ostentatiously huge and amazingly slim; it's business-savvy and utterly pornographic. But hardware like this deserves better. UPDATED

Quietly brilliant is what HTC like to call themselves and they've been giving enough proof lately. But allow us to disagree. The last thing to call the HD2 is quiet - the monster of a PocketPC simply screams rock'n'roll.
