Apple iPhone 7 Plus Pro Reviews

Phone Arena‘s review Edit

Between the Galaxy Note 8 and the iPhone 7 Plus, it's the Note 8 that currently has the 'wow!' advantage. This is exclusively due to its modern, almost-bezelless design, as well as smooth, glossy finishes and fresh color options. When you pick up a Note 8, even the boring all-black one, it strikes you as an intensely powerful and cutting-edge device; an extremely expensive, $930 high-end smarpthone that can do it all, and then some. And it really delivers. Right now, it's the culmination of Samsung's expertise and effort in mobile. This is the ultimate Galaxy.

Phone Arena‘s review Edit

There is one thing that draws a clear line between the OnePlus 5 and the iPhone 7 Plus, and it’s not the performance, features, battery or software: it’s price.

Phone Arena‘s review Edit

The iPhone 7 Plus design, in its third year, is getting a bit long in the tooth, and it shows next to that flashy bezel-buster, the Galaxy S8+, and all of its curves. The S8+ doesn't really offer more screen real estate, though, and letterboxes apps and videos made with 16:9 ratio in mind, so its elongated, narrow chassis serves mostly aesthetic and ergonomics purposes for now.

At the end of the day, it’s clear that we’re dealing with two great phones that don’t feature any glaring shortcomings or critical flaws.

Well, once again this one comes down to personal taste. A huge component of that decision concerns your feelings towards iOS and Android, but even if you're flexible there, you have to look at other things that matter. Is waterproofing a big concern? Would you rather have a higher-res display or a brighter one? There's no easy answer to “is this the right choice for most shoppers,” but hopefully with the breakdown we've brought you here, you're a lot better equipped to decide which factors are more important to you, and choose the phone you'll be most happy with.

DP Review‘s review Edit

The Apple iPhone 7 Plus can't quite keep up with the best in terms of pixel-level detail but otherwise delivers very good image quality all-around. Its unique selling point is its dual-camera with a 56mm 'tele-lens.' It allows for the best zooming of all current smartphones, offers an alternative angle of view to the wide-angle and works well in Apple's new portrait mode. There is room for improvement as far as the dual-camera's low-light performance is concerned, but overall the system is a true step forward for mobile photography.

TechRadar UK‘s review Edit

It may not be the upgrade we were hoping for, but the iPhone 7 Plus is still an excellent phone with improved cameras, super slick performance and a handy waterproof, yet familiar design.

TechSpot‘s review Edit

Somewhat akin to Intel, Apple has trained consumers on its “tick-tock” cadence of releasing a newly designed iPhone and following it up a year later with an optimized “s” variant. That’s been the formula since the iPhone 3G and iPhone 3GS were released in 2008 and 2009, respectively. This year, however, Apple broke precedent by launching a third model on the same design as its two-year-old iPhone 6.

Ultimately, though, the iPhone 7 Plus is evidence of an Apple that's not afraid to take risks, to change things up in the goal of further perfecting its best-equipped smartphone option. And while some of those changes are touched by controversy, and others feel like they haven't quite realized their full potential, the iPhone 7 Plus dares to take Apple's smartphones to a fascinating new place – and we can't wait to see where this drive to innovate brings the company next.
