At the end of the day, the Acer Aspire Switch 11 leaves us with mixed feelings. On the positive side, this 11.6-inch detachable provides a gorgeous 1080p IPS screen, excellent speakers, and a comfy keyboard for a very reasonable price. Moreover, its Core i3 processor sets it apart from Atom and Celeron rivals, delivering zippy performance whether you're composing a document or streaming a movie. However, the Switch 11 falls short in two areas key to any compact laptop: flexibility and battery life. The device works well as a tablet, but its top-heavy design causes it to tip over whenever you use it in laptop mode on an uneven surface. And while its battery life is enough to get you through most of the workday, other convertibles will take you further. Nevertheless, we'd recommend the Aspire Switch 11 to shoppers looking for a lightweight Windows 8 hybrid that's great for listening to music or watching movies. While its battery life could be better, the tablet's brilliant full HD display and pleasing sound set it apart from the competition.
