Canon MAXIFY MB2320 Pro Reviews

computershopper‘s review Edit

Not that long ago, it was nearly impossible to find an entry-level or midrange inkjet printer meant for offices that gave you a decent cost per page. For a long time, it seemed that you had two choices: buy the cheaper machine and suffer the high CPPs if you had to print a bunch now and then, or splurge and buy the more expensive MFP to enjoy the lower page costs all year round. The way we see it, in most cases, paying the $100 or $200 premium for the MB5320 isn’t a bad investment. Each time you print, it will cost you less. Then, too, the MB5320 comes with that very cool single-pass scanner. If you scan or copy a lot of two-sided documents, this feature by itself will save you gobs of time. However, there really is a sweet spot—an amount of usage—where this Maxify makes more sense. First, of course, perhaps you don’t scan enough, or not enough of, the right type of content (say, you scan more photos, rather than two-sided, multipage business documents) to really need the MB5320's pumped-up scanner. And second, your print volume is relatively low, perhaps only a few hundred pages each week. If that's the case, the MB2320 may make more sense, though to complicate matters, if you really print that little, you actually may want to look a little further downscale to the Maxify MB2020, which has just one paper tray. Why? After all, if you only print a hundred or two hundred pages a week, and mostly on the same kind of paper, it's no hardship to refill the tray just a few times a month. Still, if you know you need to shift between stock now and then, the relatively small price delta between the MB2320 and MB2020 keeps the former well within reach. And either way, we’re confident that if your SOHO is one of the many thousands that fit the criteria we've discussed, you should get exceptional service from the Maxify MB2320. Just make sure to buy the XL tanks, and give those standard-yield ones the evil eye.
