Apple jabs new Samsung Tab in Germany

Apple jabs new Samsung Tab in Germany

Posted on Apr 23, 2012 by MG3

It appears that Apple is not satisfied with the changes Samsung has made to its Galaxy Tab line over in Germany this month as the Galaxy Tab 10.1N, modified from the 10.1 with no N, still infringes on the iPad’s form and purpose – so they say. This same claim for the original Galaxy Tab has already taken hold in some other parts of the world and Apple has indeed succeeding in banning the 10.1 version of Samsung’s tablet line for brief periods of time in the past – this time though, it’s after Samsung took steps to avoid such a suit specifically. Will the Tab 10.1N, with its front-facing speakers and all, be able to avoid the Apple hammer in Deutschland?

Well, what do you know: only a day after the Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 (10.1) price was revealed by accident, we now have an idea as to how much the Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 (7.0) will cost. The 7-inch Galaxy Tab 2 tablet is currently listed on the QVC web store and is priced at $309.96. The model in question is the most basic one with 8 gigabytes of storage and no cellular connectivity.
Interestingly, this does not seem to be a pre-order page. It appears that the device can be purchased and should be shipped to your doorstep within several days. Of course, this listing for the Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 (7.0) might have been posted by mistake. But then again, it might be legit. After all, we have seen tab...

Posted on Apr 05, 2012 by MG1

Samsung on Tuesday confirmed that its 7-inch and 10.1-inch Galaxy Tab 2 tablets have been delayed and will now start shipping to the U.K at the end of the month, ComputerWorld reports. When the Android 4.0 slates were announced at this year’s Mobile World Congress, the company said both devices would arrive in U.K. stores in March ahead of a global rollout. According to a Samsung spokesman, complications with Ice Cream Sandwich caused the delay is due to Ice Cream Sandwich, which both Samsung and Google need more time to work on. This isn’t the first time Samsung has run into problems with Android 4.0. Last month the manufacturer delayed its original upgrade plan for the Galaxy Note from the...

Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 (7.0) clears the FCC hurdle

Samsung’s second coming of the original Galaxy Tab, ya’ know the 7-inch model, is at the FCC where government paid engineers are having a time of their life playing with it. Actually, they probably had better days while testing Tegra 3 devices, but the Galaxy Tab 2 is a neat device, too. At least, it’s easier to hold in one hand…

Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 delivers entry-level Ice Cream Sandwich

Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 delivers entry-level Ice Cream Sandwich

Posted on Feb 14, 2012 by MG1

Samsung has outed its latest tablet, the Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 (7.0), the Ice Cream Sandwich successor to the original Galaxy Tab model from 2010. Built around a 7-inch 1024 x 600 PLS LCD display, the new Galaxy Tab 2 has a 1GHz dual-core processor paired with 1GB of RAM, along with WiFi and a 3-megapixel rear facing camera.
There are several signs that this is a budget model, targeting the entry-level in Samsung’s expansive tablet line-up. For a start, the main camera is fixed-focus, and has no LED flash; the front-facing camera, meanwhile, is VGA resolution rather than the more typical 1.3-megapixel or above. It’s also 10.5mm thick, not vast in the grand scheme of things, but still chubbier...

Samsung unveils Galaxy Tab 2 (7.0), offers Ice Cream Sandwich on a seven-inch platter (Updated: video)

Posted on Feb 14, 2012 by MG1

It looks like Samsung has just taken the wraps off its latest tablet offerings, with the Galaxy Tab 2 (7.0) -- an ICS-laced follow-up to the company's original seven-incher. Available in both 3G and WiFi varieties, this redux doesn't mark a huge departure from its predecessor, packing a 1GHz dual-core processor, 1GB of RAM and a 1024 x 600 LCD. The big changes, however, come in the software department, with the Galaxy Tab 2 shipping with Android 4.0 straight out of the box. Other than that, you'll find a three-megapixel rear-facing camera, a VGA shooter up front, Bluetooth capabilities, and HSPA+ connectivity. No word yet on pricing or availability, but it's worth noting that we first saw th...
