Corsair Vengeance K60 Pro Reviews

www.pcper.com‘s review Edit

If you have the luxury of testing out the various Cherry MX switches and you decide that Cherry MX Red feels right for you – then you will not be disappointed with the Corsair K60 or K90 unless you fundamentally disagree with some of their design choices. I personally disagree with giving awards for peripherals which are so wrapped up in personal choice and as such I am not giving the Corsair K60 or K90 an Editor’s Choice award. It will always be up to you to decide whether a keyboard is for you or whether it should be left for someone else.

The Corsair Vengeance K60 and M60 are both extremely well built, and perform exceptionally well in all circumstances, but shine even brighter when thrown into a fast paced FPS game!

PC Magazine‘s review Edit

The Corsair Vengeance K60 keyboard is a weapon built to a gamer's specs, with a left-handed wrist rest and 10 swappable sculpted keys.

The Vengeance K60's Cherry Red switches offer a unique experience for gaming. It does not have a tactile "bump/click" feeling, which has extra resistance. The light resistance coupled with no "bump" allows quick successive key presses on the same key far easier than competing switches. The K60 is optimized for any keyboard mashing game or game with keyboard + mouse control configuration. Typing has slightly mixed results due to the nature of cherry reds, such as registering multiple keystrokes for 1 click, but this happens infrequently. Taking off the wrist rest usually eliminates the problem since it happens mostly when trying for a key that's not most comfortable to reach, such as the lower-left keys (if you have the wrist rest attached). Visually the Vengeance K60 looks fantastic, definitely one of the better looking keyboards. While not as extreme as Razer's design, the K60 is slick and good for home or office settings. If you wanted something a little more extravagant, there's always the Vengeance K90 which has backlighting. Corsair has always been known for quality products, and the Vengeance series is no different. The K60 has solid construction, and the metal top not only gives it a great look and feel, but also protection from damage and easy cleaning. Because the keys are removable, there's a fine line between too loose and too hard to take off. The Corsair K60 finds that fine line.

The Vengeance K60 is a high-performance keyboard with sturdy keys. The left hand wrist rest makes it easy and comfortable to play for hours on end. Unfortunately, there’s no illumination, but the elevated keys make cleaning the board easy. Since the keyboard doesn’t feature programmable keys, we recommend getting a high-precision gaming-grade mouse. (Corsair itself has released a companion mouse for the keyboard, the M60 mouse, which we’ll test later.) As for performance, this is absolutely the best keyboard we’ve tested so far for this style of game. If it had illumination, it would be the perfect 100 score keyboard.

overclockersclub‘s review Edit

Lastly, the K60 is one of new favorite keyboards. I am not a big fan of macro settings aside from when I spam ASCII art or annoy friends; so not having them wasn't an issue for me. The red "gaming" keys were a nice added feature and a lot of fun to use. They are a little odd to type with, as they offset your hands just enough, but they can also be swapped out relatively quickly. The first disappointment I really found with the keyboard was the quick wear of the keys. The E, F, and N key are nearly gone after only a week's use. My WASD keys are fabulously white having been using the red keys for the majority of the review. Sadly, or perhaps not so sadly, it's not just grime on the keys from food or dirty hands; it's actually just the lettering wearing away. It looks like I've already had this keyboard for a year – I fear what it will look like after a full year has passed.

We haven't seen a keyboard that caters for the needs of the FPS gamer this well before – a fantastic setup.

bit-tech‘s review Edit

Having spent plenty of time living with the Corsair Vengeance K60, both at work and when playing games, we can’t help but be impressed. The Cherry MX Red keys are great for gaming, and while their extreme sensitivity is a little tricky to get used to when it comes to typing, going back to membrane keys afterwards is like typing in jelly while wearing ski gloves. The look and feel of the K60 also made an impression; with its clean lines, raised keys and brushed aluminium chassis it looks a class act compared to other nondescript black keyboards, or overly ostentatious gaming models. However, the K60 is undeniably pricey considering similar non-Cherry key keyboards such as the Saitek Cyborg V5 sell for almost a third of the price. If you’re looking to make the switch to Cherry Keys, though, it’s fairly priced in comparison to the competition and, at £100, the K60 warrants a firm recommendation for anyone looking for a premium keyboard.
