Cool Machine great for gamingh and multimedia but not made very well.... Ive gone through 4 of them with the red light of death... fixing it isnt free either.... beware! Even after sending back I recieved machines that did not work. This machine has alot of potenial but lets face it.. for its price it should work consistantly

When these "Next Generation" consoles came out, i was a little hesitant to get one. The Xbox 360 came out before the PS3, but what really loomed over my head was the price. Why would i want to dish out over $400 for a console, when i could play Halo 2(Xbox) or Guitar Hero(PS2)? There was no need to get one because the only difference was that they put out a HD resolution. At that point in time it was really expensive to buy a HD tv. Now with "tube" television sets considered obsolete, what "Next Generation" console is the best? I had initially purchased an Xbox 360, but after getting the "Red Ring Of Doom" three times, it was time to try something else. After money thrown around, a pissed off wife, and peer pressure, i have come to the conclusion that the PS3 is by far the best piece of hardware that you can buy besides a tv. With 80gbs of memory, built in wi-fi, free online play, and a decent web browser, that its a no brainer.

best thing since slice bread

lets put it simple...you must have it

with great titles like little big planet(LBP 2 coming soon) killzone 2 and uncharted you must have it....a great alternative if you want a blu ray and you can even buy/rent movies on the playstation net work whats not to love?

i love it

its is a great consul with a great gaming experience equipped with blue ray and other great features. plus with its new sleek designee makes it a must buy for everyone.i also use it to connect to Netflix and to download games that I love. I haven't touched any other system since i got this.

Love it

I was able to sell my girlfriend on the idea by focusing on it as a Blu-Ray Player, but I've also then used it to play through Uncharted 2 (phenomenal) and join an online dynasty of NCAA Football 2010 with my friends on the East Coast. I'm also using it to connect to Netflix (that UX still needs a lot of work) and to download old school games that I love. I haven't touched my Wii in months since I got my PS3.

Best Thing Ever

I remember being hesitant buying one PS3, but after making that move it was the best thing that I have ever bought! None of my friends had one, but after seeing it perform with all its great media and gaming features, all of them bought on and now we play online games and exchange movies and games between each other.

The PS3 has proven to be a great alternative for the all home media devices where you can get everything centralized into on place and put all your movies, music and pictures onto it or just plug in a large hard disk and just enjoy the ride as it can access all kinds of files that you are able to download or convert and just store them there.

Simply amazing

I've been Extremely happy with my PS3. From watching blue-ray and hd DVD to accessing video, pictures, and music right from my PC the overall experience is the best I've had from any gaming system. When you get right down to it the PS3 is simply the best of the best.

PS3 - Best Game Console

i have to say for all of those reviews out there, that PS3 and xbox are indeed close. Graphics on the PS3 are a lil bit better and i say this on an unbised basis. however, the xbox online takes the slightest lead because of the sheer number of people that have it, otherwise the PS3 has all the advantage

I love my ps3...great graphics and great games! I am so pleased with everything about it!! Sony did such a great job with the ps3 and I would highly recommended it for anyone. It does so much the whole family can enjoy it! But I cant wait for the ps4 to release!

PS3 - Sleeping giant

I have been with Sony since they came out with the original Playstation and have had each successive system since. This system when it came out had sooo much potential that developers just didn't know what to do with it all. It is slowly but surely climbing it's way up in the console race and I believe it will outlive the Xbox 360, it already tops it in capabilities and included features; now all it needs are some killer games.

That being said I think 2010 is the year for the PS3 with a ton of new titles coming to the system. Xbox watch yo' self!

Playstation 3

I've always been a Sony guy as far as consoles. Love the comfortable feel of the controller, when games aren't ported they look amazing bar none. The future of this console is still so bright because the developers are still learning.

Got a PS3 Once my 360 Broke

This is a great device. No problems, it just takes a little bit to load games and updates take awhile. There is no easy was for a mic, you need a bluetooth headset, which isn't bad, it's just different, it's great if you have one for your phone, but if you don't...then you'll have to pay making this to be more expensive...It's a good quality system!

great device..it is one exceptional piece..though it has some cons...all in one gadget..carries a bluray disc..allows u to play online...wifi..bluetooth though only few devices get connected...also has 250 gb hdd..a must have equipment..

Playstation 3

The PS3 is a really amazing console. Straight out of the box it offers you free instant access to the Playstation Network. The graphics are pretty amazing and is very user friendly. I personally play with my 360 more, but I love my PS3 as well.

its better than xbox 360 hands down. plays blu-ray, 1st gen ps3 backplays older games, free wi-fi, doesnt come with the "red eye, red ring of death", controls are simple, does not require batties for the controlers, six axis, games selection is much better than when it came out. price drop, affordable for what its worth. psp and pc connectability. i recommend this gaming system for the hardcore players or even to someone new to the playstation console.

great machine

My son and I look forward to new games every month. As well as the blue ray player built in, nothing compares to the playstation3. Very good machine, one of the best in video gaming. great graphics. fast response you actually feel like you are there in the game.

Very nice machine

After purchasing a XBox 360 and Nintendo Wii, I felt I needed to also purchase a PS3 so that I can experience exclusive games that I have been missing. I highly recommend the Uncharted series and Metal Gear 4. The unit runs quiet and the graphics are awesome! The free "Home" and membership is great. I haven't had any problems in multiplayer games like COD5 and Killzone.

Awesome, but...

The Playstation three is an incredible system. The display is amazing for both the video games and the blu rays. If there is one thing I'd like to see them do, is make more available in terms of games and things. I think that is the only area xbox has a little advantage

Have the 40GB system that came with Spiderman 3 on Bluray. WOW!!! This thing is my new alltime favorite gadget. Next generation gaming, built in Bluray player, built in Wi-Fi, bluetooth connectivity of peripherals, free access to the Playstation Network, web browser on the big screen, Netflix instant streaming (with free disc from Netflix with subscription)... all right out of the box. Let the brand "X" console make those claims.

i love it. i have a new slim system and i love it. game selection is good, graphics are excellent, and the online service is free. i cant play ps2 games and the online service can be buggy, altogether i am pleased with the system.

It's Sturdy.

I've had a PS3 since launch, and it's held up very well.
The games are great, the system is ever-evolving, and the networking is free.
What's there not to like?
It's got free Blu-Ray capabilities, can upscale dvd's through HDMI, and has stunning audio capabilities not found on the other consoles.

just got it for christmas and LOVE IT!! i have compared a few games to the xbox and personally i feel the ps beats the visual quality in games (based on 720p) but what i realized is games dont go past 720p on ps,so assuming 1080p will outdo it for games, one thing i can say is i will never watch another dvd ever again BLURAY FOREVER!! down side about this device is i found it a little harder to use the menue part, x box is a little more straight forward, for example me and my friend for the life of us can not figure out how to play a 2 player game using both our gamer tags on 1 console which sux cuz we both want to improve our trophy collecting expierience

PS 3 Slim

I have the PS 3 Slim 120 GB version. For my needs, this is a great system. Blu-Ray capabilities, great graphics, and Netflix compatibility makes it very attractive to me. I also believe the Xbox is a decent system, however, Blu-Ray support sealed the deal for me.
