On May 10th at the 2011 Google I/O conference, the search engine company announced that they were activating over 400,000 Android devices every single day. Today, via a tweet from Andy Rubin, the father of Android, pictured above wearing glasses, we now know that number is up to 500,000 per day, and more importantly it’s growing at a rate of 4.4% per week.
