Video upscaling software for Windows?

Posted by jonathan1250 on Jan 23, 2012

Hi, can you recommend me a software (video player?) that will upscale films to higher HD resolution? For example, DVD resolution to 720 or 1080. I've seen that some blu-ray players have the option to upscale movies, but can it be done on the PC as well?

- Arcsoft total media centre 5

- Corel Windvd pro 11

Both have options for picture adjustment and uspcaling and are available for download (trial).

Right, I tried the Media Centre, apart from the great user interface the upscaling is really some sharpening and color distortion. On my TV it looked more pixelated with the upscaling option on. I'll try the other one suggested as well, thanks.

I have personal experience with the Arcsoft total media center and it's quite good. I don't get the idea of 720p to 1080p upscaling...The picture is just ugly for me :(

Yeah the software upscaling just doesn`t work good...just watch 1080p ;)

Yeah, these media players can't seem to do exactly what I want. Anyone tried getting the ffdshow codec to do the upscaling?
