What wireless network adapter to buy?

Posted by Trixey on Jul 06, 2011

My old adapter is gone and I'm looking for new. Are all brands the same? Do network adapters with higher power rating have better range?

Level 9 If by "wireless network adapter" :) you mean Wireless USB dongle I can reccomend you anything Cisco sells, but more particularly:

It is a wireless-n adapter and works flawlessly as far as I know.

Level 2 Yes, network adapters with higher power rating have better range...choose some major brand (Cisco, Asus, HP)

Level 2 Basically they are all the same, if you stick to the major brands you should be fine. I'd recommend you buy a stick with higher power and signal sensitivity rating and preferably with external antenna (if that doesn't bother you of course).
